Columbia flight first made its flight in 1981. By 2003, this flight had flown 27 times. For this reason, the condition of this flight was very bad.

Kalpana Chawla’s vehicle was reported to have disintegrated at an altitude of 63 kilometers, causing Kalpana’s death. Along with Chawla, 6 other astronauts were also killed.
